PikPak Referral Reward Program Update: Fairer Rewards, Smoother Experience

To give genuine PikPak enthusiasts a better and fairer referral experience, we’re rolling out an upgrade to our referral reward program soon.

Why We’re Making This Change

Since the launch of the program, we’ve seen some users exploit the “Invite to Install, Get Free Premium” campaign by using technical means or fake accounts to gain a large number of free rewards. This kind of abuse not only disrupts the integrity of the referral system but also puts significant pressure on our platform resources.

This is a classic case of dishonest behavior pushing out genuine users:

• Some users have been faking referral activity to cheat the system into giving them free premium rewards. In some cases, these fake rewards are even sold online for profit—and the problem keeps getting worse.
• This kind of abuse has caused a sharp increase in free premium, which uses up a lot of our server capacity. Although we’ve invested in additional infrastructure to maintain a stable user experience, our long-term revenue model cannot support this continued strain.
• We’ve been working to detect and remove abusive accounts and reclaim improperly issued rewards. But these users keep changing their methods, and no detection system is perfect.
• As a result, some honest users have been negatively affected—facing delays in receiving their rewards or even having them mistakenly revoked.

This situation is clearly unfair and goes against the original purpose of our referral system. But instead of shutting the program down, we want to keep it alive for true PikPak fans who genuinely share the app with friends. So, we’re rolling out a new plan: identify active, authentic users first, then grant them access to special referral rewards.

What’s Changing

All users could participate in the “Invite to Install, Get Free Premium” program immediately after signing up.	Only users who meet certain criteria will receive a system notification inviting them to activate special referral rewards. Eligibility is dynamically assessed based on user activity and genuine referral behavior.
Reward distribution could be delayed, and some rewards might be revoked later.	Rewards will be issued immediately after a successful invite, with no risk of being revoked.
Invitees received no additional benefits.	Invitees will also receive free premium when the inviter has available special referral reward slots.
The reward for inviting the app to install is limited to the first 50 valid invitations.	Referral reward quotas will be issued in batches, with no upper limit. Active and genuine users will have more chances to earn.
Users could earn free premium days when their referred friends purchased a subscription.	No change. All users can continue earning free premium days from friend purchases.

• Eligible users will receive a pop-up notification within the app. You’ll be able to activate “Special Referral Rewards” through the notification and receive a quota of referral slots. A quick human verification may be required during activation.
• Eligibility for special rewards is evaluated dynamically. The system will regularly assess users based on app usage and referral performance. Even if you don’t qualify immediately, you can still earn rewards when your friends buy premium—and consistent, genuine use of PikPak will increase your chances of receiving special referral rewards in the future.
• Each batch of special rewards comes with a limited number of referral slots. Once your current slots are used up, you won’t receive install-based rewards until you receive more slots. However, you’ll still be eligible for the premium rewards when your friends purchase.
• Make sure you’re using the latest version of the PikPak app so you can receive notifications and activate your referral rewards in time.
• All users can continue to participate in the “Reward for Every Purchase Made by Invited Friends” program without any restrictions or limits.

Our Goal

We hope this update will reduce abuse and restore the referral program to what it was meant to be: a way for PikPak users to invite friends and share mutual benefits.
